Deut 33:19

Women's Event Teaching - Sally Lee

*Blessings from Moses ( for Zebulan and Issachar specifically)

Mention: Gen 49:13 says “Zebulun shall dwell by the haven of the sea;

He shall become a haven for ships,

And his border shall adjoin Sidon.”  Clearly a prophecy

  • what it is NOT

  • Gotquestions.org says “Like other aspects of the “prayer movement,” such as soaking prayer, prophetic prayer—or prophetic intercession—is an unbiblical practice that seeks to ascribe to the pray-er power and privilege that have no foundation in Scripture.”

  • What it IS: word of wisdom, word of knowledge, prophecy?

  • 1 Timothy 1:18  This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

  •

  • David Guzik in speaking about this says that Paul wanted Timothy to consider what the Holy Spirit had said to him through others in the past, and receive the courage to remain in Ephesus from those.

i. Apparently, God had spoken to Timothy through others through the gift of prophecy and the words were an encouragement for Timothy to stay strong in the difficulty right in front of him. It may have been a description of Timothy’s future ministry; it may have been a warning against being timid in his work for God. Whatever it was, God wanted Timothy to draw strength from it in his present difficulty.

  • ii. So, the prophecies Timothy had received before might have been predictive of his future ministry, or may have not been. He who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men(1 Corinthians 14:3). It may or may not be presented as an announcement of the future.

  • The source is God, by His spirit, revealing His plan. It may be a word from Him or a Scripture, but it is by HIM and will always direct people to HIM.

Back to our text..

*Going out …AND in your tents

*in the mountains and the seashores

*this is also mentioned in Genesis 49:13 that Zebulan will dwell by the haven by the sea

*what draws us in? Mountains look so majestic and Seashore calls us to come closer

*what summer excursions are you planning?

*Did you know that God is in the background planning as well?

*Acts 17:26-30

  1. Boundary’s are set

  2. For the express purpose that we might find Him, know him

*Isaiah 9:1-2

  1. Back to Zebulan …what was so special about this area of real estate? Is it really about where it is or about who is there?

  2. Zebulan was the first to see gloom from the Assyrian invasion

  3. You might be experiencing invasion from the enemy, maybe anger, bitterness, oppression. God has a plan even in turmoil

  4. This land was also the first to see the Messiah direct quote: Matt 4:12-16

  5. The great light, the light shining is… JESUS

  6. You may be dwelling in darkness but have you seen the light, have you seen Jesus in the midst? Do you KNOW HIM? Put Him in charge of your life, your destiny today.

Blessings,

Sally
